Bridge Reconstruction Project

The Arlington County Department of Environmental Services is accepting comments regarding the proposed changes for the Mount Vernon Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. The project will replace the deteriorated roadway and underlying bridge deck. It will also expand sidewalks and add bike lanes and a new pedestrian connection to the Four Mile Run Trail.

Information related to the project is available for review at the Arlington County Department of Environmental Services, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22201, (tel.703-228-7525). Please call ahead for staff availability. Information is also available online: Visit www.arlingtonva.us and search “Arlington Ridge Road/Mount Vernon Avenue Bridge Reconstruction Project”.

Arlington County invites public comments related to the project. Comments must be received in writing at jwidstrom@arlingtonva.us or by mail at the address listed above (ATTN: Jason Widstrom) by April 19, 2024. Please reference “Arlington Ridge Road/Mount Vernon Avenue Bridge Reconstruction Project” in the subject line.

If your concerns cannot be satisfied, Arlington County is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Jason Widstrom, Arlington County Department of Environmental Services, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22201 on or prior to April 19, 2024. If upon receiving public comments it is deemed necessary to hold a public hearing, notice of date, time and place of hearing will be posted.
