M-NCPPC’s Montgomery Parks announces the Long Branch-Prospect project. The existing pedestrian bridge across the Long Branch, a tributary of Sligo Creek, will be removed and replaced with a new pedestrian bridge. The trails will be updated to align with the new bridge. As a part of the mitigation for the project, 300 linear feet of the stream will be restored to stabilize the stream channel and banks to reduce erosion and sedimentation downstream. The stream restoration work will temporarily impact 0.23 acres of wetlands. The project will temporarily impact 0.37 acres of floodplain. The new bridge’s abutments will permanently impact 60 square feet of floodplain. El puente peatonal existente que cruza Long Branch, un afluente del Sligo Creek, se eliminará y se reemplazará con un nuevo puente peatonal.
