EFSP Phase 41

The Prince William Area which includes Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, has been awarded Federal Funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program to supplement and expand emergency programs in the county. The EFSP was created in 1983 to supplement and expand the work of local social service agencies to help people with economic emergencies.

Phase 41, the Prince William Area has been awarded $180,467.00 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs and provide rental/mortgage and utility assistance.

Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.

Emergency Food and Shelter Program funding priorities for the Prince William Area include the following: Mass Shelter, Mass Feeding, Rental/Mortgage, Utility, and Other Shelter. Applications will be available on May 6, 2024, along with the “How to Apply” workshop. Qualifying agencies are encouraged to apply by 12:00pm on May 24, 2024. All applications should be submitted electronically.
