UPON the Motion of the Commonwealth for entry of an Order of Publication; and

IT APPEARING to the Court that the object of this suit is to give notice of the forfeiture of Five Thousand One Hundred and Twenty-Two Dollars ($5,122.00) United States Currency and require the defendant, Juwan Marquette Joyner, to appear and protect his interests on or before the date stated in the order; and

AFTER considering the Commonwealth’s Affidavit for Service by Publication; and

IT APPEARING by affidavit filed according to law that due diligence was used to determine the location of the above-named defendant; it is therefore

ORDERED that the defendant appear on or before the 4th day of October, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. before this Court and do what is necessary to protect his interests.

TO THE OWNER OR LEIN HODER OF THE NAMED PROPERTY: The interest of the party defendant in the property is subject to forfeiture to the Commonwealth unless within thirty (30) days of service of this notice, an answer under oath is filed setting forth the nature of the defendant’s claim, the exact right, title, or character of the ownership interest in the property and the evidence thereof, and the reason, cause, exemption, or defense he/she may have against the forfeiture of his/her interest in the property, including but not limited to the exemptions set forth in Virginia Code Section 19.2-386.8; and it is further

ORDERED that this Order be published once a week for four successive weeks in the Washington Times, a newspaper of general circulation in Prince William County; that a copy of this order be posted at the front door of the courthouse wherein this court is held; and that a copy of this order be mailed to the defendant at the address show by the aforesaid affidavit. Entered this 9th day of August, 2024.
