PLANNING COMMISSION

OCTOBER 23, 2024, AT 7:30 P.M.

Public hearing before the Planning Commission of Fairfax County, Virginia, to be held at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia 22035.

Plan Amendment #s SSPA-2023-IV-6S and SSPA-2023-IV-7S concerns approx. 5.77 ac. generally located south of Old Keene Mill Road flanking Amherst Avenue and Backlick Road (Tax Map Parcels 80-4 ((1)) 17,18,19, and 20B, Tax Map parcels 90-2 ((1)) 4A, 4B, and 4C, and 80-4 ((1) 14, 14A, 14B, 15, 16 and 16A) in the Franconia Supervisor District. The area is planned for office and retail uses with options up to 1.0 FAR and 1.5 FAR; as an alternative, auto sales and service up to .70 FAR; and low intensity office and retail up to .50 FAR. The amendment will consider residential mixed-use up to 732 units with ground floor non-residential use. Changes to related figures and editorial updates to the Comprehensive Plan for the Franconia-Springfield Area may also be considered. Recommendations relating to the transportation network may also be modified.

At the public hearing, interested persons will be given an opportunity to express their view regarding the application.
