• Draft Chesapeake Bay TMDL Action Plan

Fairfax County has updated its Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Action Plan. The county is soliciting comments on a proposed strategy of Best Management Practice implementation to meet the “Chesapeake Bay TMDL Special Condition” in Part I D 1 of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit that became effective January 4, 2024.

The Draft Chesapeake Bay TMDL Action Plan builds on the County’s previous plan that was approved by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality on August 15, 2017. The County’s final plan must be submitted to DEQ no later than January 3, 2025.

The plan can be accessed online at https://publicinput.com/cbtmdlactionplan. Physical copies of the plan will be available for review during regular business hours at the information desk at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax), and in the Virginia Room located on the second floor of the City of Fairfax Regional Library, 10360 North St, Fairfax, VA 22030.
