Notice to Solicit Public Comments

Arlington Boulevard (US Route 50) at Highland Street

Route 50 at Highland Street Pilot Safety Project

The Arlington County Department of Environmental Services is accepting comments regarding the proposed changes for the Route 50 at Highland Street Pilot Safety Project. The pilot project will test the efficacy of left-turn and through restrictions in reducing vehicle crashes at this intersection.

Information related to the project is available for review at the Arlington County Department of Environmental Services, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22201, (tel.703-228-3780). Please call ahead to ensure staff availability. Information is also available online: Visit www.arlingtonva.us and search “Vision Zero Pilot Safety Projects”.

Arlington County invites public comments related to the project. Comments must be received in writing via email to csbaker@arlingtonva.us or by mail at the address listed above (ATTN: Christine Baker) by January 6, 2025. Please reference “Route 50 at Highland Street Pilot Project” in the subject line.

If your concerns cannot be satisfied, Arlington County is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Christine Baker, Arlington County Department of Environmental Services, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22201 on or prior to January 6, 2025. If upon receiving public comments it is deemed necessary to hold a public hearing, notice of date, time and place of hearing will be posted.
