Draft Local TMDL Action Plans

Fairfax County has updated its Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Action Plans for sediment, bacteria, and Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) pollutants. The county is soliciting comments on the proposed strategies of Best Management Practice implementation to meet the requirements in Part I D 2 of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit that became effective January 4, 2024.

The Draft Local TMDL Action Plans build on the County’s previous plans that were submitted to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality in 2017. The County’s final plans must be submitted to DEQ no later than July 1, 2025.

The plan can be accessed online at https://publicinput.com/localtmdl. Physical copies of the plan will be available for review during regular business hours at the information desk at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax), and in the Virginia Room located on the second floor of the City of Fairfax Regional Library, 10360 North St, Fairfax, VA 22030.
