NOTICE OF INTENT TO ENTER SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT

THE FRESHFARM MARKET INC.

Pursuant to the DC Public Charter School procurement policy, Washington Yu Ying PCS hereby submits this notice of intent to award a sole source contract to The FreshFarm Market INC for their FoodPrints program, a unique and highly specialized food education and nutrition initiative developed by FRESHFARM. FoodPrints integrates gardening, cooking, and nutrition education into the school day, providing hands-on experiences that align with academic standards and promote healthy habits for life.

Yu Ying is proud to be the first charter school to partner with FoodPrints, bringing this innovative model to our students in grades 1 - 5. The program is integrated into our instructional calendar, with monthly in-school field trips for every grade level. Each session allows students to learn, harvest, cook, and share healthy recipes together, reinforcing community, collaboration, and wellness.

Because of the distinctive nature of the program, and its demonstrated value to our school’s learning environment, we believe that FRESHFARM’s FoodPrints is the only provider capable of delivering this programming and therefore qualifies for a sole source designation. This contract will range between $50,000 – $70,000.
