PUBLIC HEARING AND REPORTS

The Draft Amendment and the Master Plan Historic Site Designation Form for the Budd House Master Plan Historic Site will be available online one-week before the July 23, 2025 hearing: https://montgomeryplanning.org/planning/historic/historic-preservation-commission/hpc-

meetings-2025/

The Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission will review the architectural and historic significance of the site according to the criteria listed in the Historic Resources Preservation, Chapter 24A of the Montgomery County Code. The Commission will formulate a recommendation on whether or not the property merits historic designation and will transmit that recommendation to the Montgomery County Planning Board. If ultimately listed in the Locational Atlas and Index of Historic Sites and Master Plan for Historic Preservation, the property would be protected under the Historic Resources Preservation ordinance which provides certain controls regarding alteration, demolition, and maintenance.

The purpose of the public hearing is to provide an opportunity for all interested persons to express their views and to take testimony on whether or not the following historic site should be included in the Master Plan for Historic Preservation.

For questions regarding the hearing, please send an e-mail to mcp-historic@mncppc-mc.org or
