Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 8.01-324, please take notice that the Alexandria Times intends to file a petition with the City of Alexandria Circuit Court in order to obtain authority to publish legal notices and publications. The Alexandria Times has been published and distributed weekly since September 2005. The paper prints news and community events of a general and legal nature. Its circulation covers much of Northern Virginia. Its home delivered copies, approximately 3,600 each week, are delivered in the City of Alexandria and in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. An additional 11,400 printed copies are placed in news boxes, racks and inside businesses in the City of Alexandria, the Alexandria portion of Fairfax County and parts of Arlington County. The Alexandria Times is printed in English. The Times employs a full-time news staff, covers local news, writes editorials about local matters and prints letters to the editor about local topics. It is circulated within the community and the Times' printer, Washington Post of Springfield, VA provides an official audit of the Times' print run annually, to the Virginia Press Association. In addition, the Times employs a distributor, who is paid bi-weekly, and recently conducted an in-house audit of the distribution.
