NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Fairfax at its meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 7 p.m. in City Hall Annex, Room 100, 10455 Armstrong Street, Fairfax, Virginia, 22030, will hold a public hearing to consider the following:

Urban Forest Master Plan

The adoption of the draft Urban Forest Master Plan dated December 2025. The City of Fairfax 2035 Comprehensive Plan recommended the development of an urban forest management plan to protect and increase the extent of the city’s urban forest. The Urban Forest Master Plan has been in development since May 2024 and is a planning document that identifies a vision, goals, and guiding principles for managing an urban forest over mid-to-long-term planning horizons. It recommends implementation actions to improve urban forest policy, staffing, operations, and community engagement to meet five key objectives: Protect, Regulate, Grow, Manage, and Engage.

All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing and express their views or by submitting an email to publichearing@fairfaxva.gov or submit eComments on the day of the meeting at www.fairfaxva.gov/CityMeetings. All reports will be available electronically five (5) days prior to the meeting date and on the City of Fairfax webpage at www.fairfaxva.gov.
