Architectural Design Services

RFP for Architectural Design Services: District of Columbia International School (DCI) is seeking proposals from qualified architectural firms for a transformative athletic and community facility project in Washington, DC. The project involves two distinct assignments at a 7.92-acre site in Northwest DC: the design of a multipurpose athletic field accommodating soccer, baseball, lacrosse, football, and more and the design of an approximately 28,000 SF multipurpose building and auditorium seating 500+, featuring locker rooms, concessions, AV/broadcast capabilities, and structured parking.

DCI is looking for design partners who combine architectural excellence with a deep commitment to sustainability and community. Selected firm(s) will support community engagement and navigate DC's regulatory environment — including DOEE requirements, urban forestry regulations, and the DC Green Construction Code — while delivering outcomes aligned with LEED or equivalent benchmarks. Full design services are required across four phases: Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.

DCI is issuing this RFP as two (2) distinct assignments. Respondents may submit a proposal for one or both assignments; however, proposals must clearly indicate which assignment(s) are being addressed.
