Painting and Surface Preparation

RFP for Painting and Surface Preparation: District of Columbia International School (DCI) is seeking proposals for interior painting and surface preparation for approximately 200,000 square feet at DC International School, including all major areas such as classrooms, hallways, theater, cafeteria, and gym. The contractor must perform full surface prep and deliver a high-quality finish using mandatory Zero VOC paints suitable for an occupied school environment. Work will take place on an active campus with summer programs, requiring flexibility, safe practices, and

the ability to work extended hours and weekends. The project has a strict, non-negotiable schedule, with a start date no earlier than July 1st and full completion—including punch list—within six to eight weeks. The scope is turnkey, requiring all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and cleanup. Contractors must demonstrate the capacity, staffing, and experience to deliver on time or risk penalties.
