DWIGHT AVENUE PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS

CITY OF FAIRFAX PUBLIC HEARING

Tuesday, November 10, 2026, 7:00PM

Held in Person at City Hall

Council Chamber, Room 100,

City Hall Annex,

10455 Armstrong Street,

Fairfax, VA 22030

Provide comments on the proposed Dwight Avenue Pedestrian Improvements in the City of Fairfax. This project will create a safe sidewalk and proposed curb and gutter section with drainage accommodations on the north side of Dwight Avenue from Roberts Road to Orchard Drive and intersection improvements at Roberts Road and Sager Avenue and at Dwight Avenue and Orchard Drive. This 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk advances the goal of improving safe connections and pedestrian accommodation for residents in the City of Fairfax. Additionally, these improvements follow the pedestrian goals set out in the City of Fairfax 2035 Comprehensive Plan adopted February 2019. The project will cause minimal impacts to private right-of-way along Dwight Avenue and will include accommodations such as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps and high visibility pedestrian crosswalks at the Sager & Roberts, Dwight & Roberts, Dwight & Virginia, and Dwight & Orchard intersections. The project will ensure these new pedestrian facilities create a cohesive link for users and maximize community benefit.

Review project plans, information about property impacts, right of way policies, the tentative construction schedule and environmental documents at the hearing. This information will also be available prior to the public hearing at 10455 Armstrong Street, Room 200, Fairfax, VA 22030 and online at: https://engage.fairfaxva.gov/dwight-avenue
