OAK STREET PEDESTRIAN AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
CITY OF FAIRFAX PUBLIC HEARING
Tuesday, November 10, 2026, 7:00PM
Held in Person at City Hall
Council Chamber, Room 100,
City Hall Annex,
10455 Armstrong Street,
Fairfax, VA 22030
Provide comments on the proposed Oak Street Sidewalk Improvements in the City of Fairfax. This project will create a safe sidewalk and proposed curb and gutter section with drainage accommodation on the west side of Oak Street from Main Street to Williow Terrace. This 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk advances the goal of improving safe connections and pedestrian accommodation for residents in the City of Fairfax. Additionally, these improvements follow the pedestrian goals set out in the City of Fairfax 2035 Comprehensive Plan adopted February 2019. The project will cause minimal impacts to private right-of-way along Oak Street and will include accommodations such as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps and high visibility pedestrian crosswalks at the Oak & First and Oak & Second St Intersections. These project efforts are simultaneously being coordinated with the pedestrian improvements project along First Street and Second Street. This will ensure these pedestrian facilities create a cohesive network for users and maximize community benefit.
Review project plans, information about property impacts, right of way policies, the tentative construction schedule and environmental documents at the hearing. This information will also be available prior to the public hearing at 10455 Armstrong Street, Room 200, Fairfax, VA 22030 and online at:
