TITLE: Software Engineer

EMPLOYER: CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc.

DUTIES: CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc. has multiple openings for the position of Software Engineer, and the job duties are as follows:

- Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

- Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.

- Prepare operating instructions.

- Design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

- Ensure software standards are met.

LOCATION: Fairfax, VA (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

- Designing technical solutions with Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, Oozie, and Apache Spark for big data processing;

- Working with Unix Shell Scripting for creating wrapper scripts and migrating data processes.

- ETL frameworks and data aggregation using Apache Spark and SQL; and

- Designing scalable solutions for large data sets.

Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:

- Working with AWS, Databricks, and Python for cloud-based big data processing, analytics, and ETL pipelines;

- Data transformation, aggregation, and advanced analytics using PySpark; and

- Implementing and supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Terraform for cloud infrastructure automation.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

- Working with HBase or MongoDB; and

- Working with Scala Spark or PySpark.

Must be willing to relocate to various unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S.
