TITLE: Software Architect

EMPLOYER: CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc.

DUTIES: CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc. has multiple openings for the position Software Architect and the job duties are as follows:

- Make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.

- Regulate choices available during development by choosing standards and platforms for application development.

- Create, define, or choose an application framework for the application.

- Recognize potential reuse in the organization or in the application by observing and understanding the broader system environment.

- Create the component design.

- Subdivide a complex application, during the design phase, into smaller, more manageable pieces.

LOCATION: Fairfax, VA (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT or business consulting services industry.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

- Designing, executing, and analyzing load, stress, and scalability tests using JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling;

- Profiling applications and systems using APM and monitoring tools including GlowRoot, DataDog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic;

- Working with Kafka or Azure Event Hub; and

- Refining database performance by analyzing query execution and adjusting connection pooling configurations.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

- Documenting test results and providing solutions to enhance system scalability and reliability;

- Integrating performance testing into automated CI/CD pipelines; and

- Utilizing kubectl to conduct performance engineering in cloud-native, containerized, and Kubernetes-based environments.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% from assigned location.

Must be willing to relocate to various unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S.
